Do you realize that the world is heading towards a stage, which is probably one of the worst phases of its existence? Have you ever been open to facts that there are diseases occurring, which had not been there even a few years back?
Increasing levels of pollution is the single most dangerous factor behind many diseases and gynecomastia is no exception. Directly or indirectly, the cloud of pollution in which we live is causing physiological problems that lead to some unknown diseases. Gynecomastia is one such disease that has come to the forefront. It is a man?s disease that is spreading at an alarming rate. More and more men are getting affected by this disease commonly called man?s boobs.
Gynecomastia is the medical name for the problem of man?s boobs or the condition in which the man?s chest gets enlarged to look like a woman?s breasts. Though it is a physical disorder it can lead to psychological problems because it affects the appearance of the man and that gets quite embarrassing and difficult to deal with. Since it is a rather new phenomenon, doctors and physiologists are conducting researches to explore the reasons behind the disease. So far not much is known about what causes man boobs but many theories are being put forward regarding the possible causes of gynecomastia.
One of the well known reasons recognized by most of the medical practitioners is the deficiency in proper male hormonal functioning. Oestrogen is regarded as the main hormone in developing breasts among women. The main active hormone here, in case of men, is known as testosterone.
When a male human body suffers from high rate of oestrogen production, comparing to the testosterone production rate, it is affected by the disease Gynecomastia. The reasons behind this disruption are varied ? it may be caused by wrong medication or chronic disease of kidney, high rate of serum estrogen, chronic disease of liver, high production rate of testosterone etc.
It is also evident from various past instances that Gynecomastia may occure due to serious physical injury, for example a severe damage at spinal cord. Though diverse studies and researches have been organized to identify the specific cause of Gynecomastia, but still much is left undiscovered.
Man boobs can be caused as an after-effect of some diseases, such as hypothalamus or the pituitary glands, genetic diseases like Klinefelter, Kennedy disease and others. This can also be caused due to repeated use of products containing tea tree oils or lavender. Often, obesity is considered the main reason behind the occurrence of the disease gynecomastia or man boobs.
As for the treatment of Gynecomastia or man boobs is concerned, the best way is to handle it intelligently at your own level. Learn about the specific exercises to reduce fat from the chest and take some gynecomastia supplements to restore the hormonal balance in your body. You can consult your doctor and your physical health trainer to get practical advice. As far as possible, stay away from invasive methods to cure gynecomastia. Surgery should be the last resort.

Is Fluoride Addition in Water Good?
By Samuel S. Peters | August 19, 2008
Obviously, good parents want their children to have strong teeth. Yet, in spite of the improvements in dental care in recent years, a quarter of two to five year olds and half of children 12-15 have had one or more cavities. Further 2/3 of 16- to 19-year-olds have had dental problems. To counteract this, many suggest that adding fluoride to public water will help. Others say it will do more harm than good.
Fluorine in various compounds may be found naturally in water. In fact, it is the 13th most common element in the Earth’s crust. The question is, when fluoride is not found naturally in water, should it be added? Studies have been made for decades and will continue. The purpose of this article is to consider both views and then present options.
Consider these quotes: “It is well known that fluoride helps prevent and even reverse the early stages of tooth decay.” “Today, water fluoridation is estimated to reduce tooth decay by 20-40%.” These statements were made by a medical doctor. Here’s another: “For over 60 years, water fluoridation has proved to be a safe and cost-effective way to reduce dental caries.”
The pro side claims that fluoride combats tooth decay in two ways. First, it becomes part of the structure of developing teeth. Second, it also works when it comes in contact with the surface of the teeth. Fluoride prevents the acid produced by the bacteria in plaque from dissolving, or demineralizing, tooth enamel, the hard and shiny substance that protects the teeth. Fluoride also allows teeth damaged by acid to repair, or remineralize, themselves. Fluoride cannot repair cavities, but it can reverse low levels of tooth decay and thus prevent new cavities from forming.
The other side makes statements like these: “. . . there is no difference in the tooth decay rates of the fluoridated and nonfluoridated areas surveyed.” They even claim that increased amount of fluoride in children also increases tooth decay.
Too much fluoride before 8 years of age, a time when teeth are developing, can cause enamel fluorosis, a discoloration or mottling of the permanent teeth. Sometimes the amount of fluoride ingested from the water and then through toothpaste and dental treatments can be too much.
Symptoms of fluoride toxicity may begin 30 minutes after an overdose and last up to 24 hours. These symptoms include increased thirst, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or increased salivation.
What is the long range effect of fluoride in water? Those opposed to it being added to the water say it is linked to changes in bone structure and strength, inhibits key enzymes, has caused perinatal deaths and birth defects, has impaired the immune system, causes osteoarthritis, causes initial stages of skeletal fluorosis, suppresses thyroid function, and several other adverse problems. They say it even causes cancer.
What about the studies mentioned above proving that fluoride is good for dental hygiene? Opponents point out the studies had several flaws. First, they did not consider other minerals in the water that could have been the cause of decreased instances of tooth decay. Second, they did not consider the differences between “natural fluoride” (like CaF) and added fluoride (like NaF). Third, the conclusion had little or no statistical analysis. Fourth, it included no safety experiments except for dental fluorosis.
If you conclude that fluoride should not be in your drinking water, what can you do about it? You could buy bottled water but this is expensive. A better choice is to purchase a water filter that removes fluoride. Berkey, for example, has available an additional filter that can we attached to the regular charcoal filters and will remove fluoride from the water. You don’t have to ingest it if you don’t want to.

Clenbuterol’s Effect on Weightloss
By Mark Hall | August 19, 2008
Unfortunately for the manufacturers of Clenbuterol weight loss pills, the treatment has a number of side effects which can be harmful; it is not in anyone’s best interest to start this type of treatment without the express permission of a doctor. Should you make up your mind that this is the weight loss treatment for you, there are a few details you need to know before you even approach your doctor about it. The first worrying point would be that in America, the federal Drug Administration will not grant it approval for use despite being readily available almost everywhere else in the world.
There was no Clenbuterol weight loss treatment on the market a few years ago, and this drug was used to treat breathing disorders; but later, athletes discovered that it had other effects besides that could both help lose weight and increase muscle condition. The effect that is demonstrated by its use is more reminiscent on ephedra than a typical steroid. The way Clenbuterol works on a persons system is by increasing the flow of blood and their metabolic rate, which in turn burns unwanted fat.
Eliminating as much body fat as possible in order to improve the effectiveness of muscles is every athletes dream but to do this it has to affect certain hormones like adrenalin, dopamine and noradrenalin. Owing to the effects it can have on the system it should be administered under strict medical supervision by gradually increasing the dose. This is to help avoid some of the more serious side-effects like tremors, severe head pains and also erratic sleep patterns.
Furthermore, the fat burning effect only appears for three or four weeks after which the body enters a stagnation period and this is why those who take Clenbuterol to treat obesity make a pause of a month or so before starting another cycle. Most specialists will tell you this weight loss treatment is a dangerous and undesirable choice for a dietary program. The purpose of knowing the side-effects is not just to warn a person away from using this drug but if they are set on using it they can guard against the side-effects.
One thing is for sure Clenbuterol weight loss treatment is not completely out of the scene yet, particularly since there are countries where it is still used. If people took their physical well-being more seriously by eating healthily and took regular exercise, there would be no need to use drugs that have serious side-effects. Yes it works, but consider the long term implications to your health before seeing your doctor about using it.

Weight Loss Tips: Healthier After School Snacks
By Joel Riley | August 19, 2008
When kids are in school, sometimes there’s a long stretch between lunch and the end of school so when they get home, they are hungry. It’s up to you to choose the appropriate snacks for them to make a healthy choice.
Many parents feed their children foods such as cookies and processed foods. While these give quick energy, they’re not the best choice for your child. Instead of high calorie, high fat treats you need to focus on foods that will provide good nutrition for your child.
Veggies. If you keep vegetables cut up and available at all times, it’s easy to give your child serving after school. Try cutting up carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, and celery and keeping them in the refrigerator. You can also keep a vegetable dip prepared if your children don’t like eating vegetables without any dressing.
Fruits. Fruit is another great snack for kids after school. Keeping apples, pears, strawberries, peaches, and plums stocked in your refrigerator will give your kids the opportunity to eat these healthy snacks. When you get home from the store, wash your fruit immediately and put it in a bowl where your kids can have easy access to it.
Natural Snacks. The best snacks are those things that you can find in nature. You can also give your child nuts, popcorn, dried fruit, string cheese, yogurt, and milk as a snack.
The general rule of thumb for after school snacks is to choose those that are natural and not processed. Avoid added sugar and fat. You may also want to limit foods that are high in preservatives and extra coloring.
Dipping fruits or vegetables in peanut butter is a great way to help your children enjoy their flavor without adding unhealthy calories.
Unfortunately, many snacks that are marketed for children aren’t the best things for them. As a parent, you’ll have to be diligent to make sure your children are eating foods that are good for them.
