Everyone loves dimples! They’re so cute. But you want them on the cheeks on YOUR FACE, not your butt. The lumpy, dimpled texture that gathers on our hips, thighs, and butts is known as cellulite. Ick.

While there are plenty of methods to learn how to get rid of cellulite, I want to warn you away from the ’solutions’ that don’t work. You’ve probably seen those products advertised on television. These commercials usually make extravagant promises, telling us that they can get rid of our cellulite and leaves us looking as gorgeous as a Hollywood babe. It’s safe to assume that most of them are fake. Here are examples of the things that just don’t work.

Creams and Lotions - They say that they know how to get rid of cellulite: Just rub this cream on your thighs and watch the cellulite disappear. Which is just false advertising! Sometimes they work, but only for a little while. They temporarily shrink the fatty cells. Before you know it, the cellulite returns like an ex-boyfriend who can’t take a hint.

Body Wraps - Again, these may provide a temporary fix but the truth is that it is very temporary. Actually, body wraps may not even be healthy for you. Next time you see an advertisement for these, just turn the television off!

Electric Muscle Stimulation - Ah, these sound like a dream come true, right? All you have to do is put on this device, switch it on, and sit back down on the couch to watch more television. Keep it up and your cellulite is all gone. Nope, sorry, that’s a hoax too.

The real solution isn’t so easy. If you really want to learn how to get rid of cellulite, you have to work for it. You eat right, avoid certain foods, and exercise to shrink up those fat cells. That’s the only solution of any effectiveness that will reduce cellulite and leave our skin looking smooth.

It’s a raw deal, I know. But if we’re determined, committed, and are driven to succeed, we’ll have what it takes to get rid of those pesky dimples!

Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet is a Story Indeed

By James Richardson | June 8, 2008

by James Richardson

The purpose of a vegetarian resource is to have a educational materials ready to help inspire you with the new lifestyle as a vegetarian. To show you the benefits in your nutrition, environment and ethics. Most of these resource centers are non-profit and dedicated to your education. The idea one would be A to Z reference guide with all the facts.

A how to group for Vegans will be a great help with all the challenges of your meat eating friends. Use the resource center as a place for new ideas for them and new foods for self. It’s like a fact center just for you, use it.

This society of vegetarians has many sub groups within them and there standards are by no means the same. A vegan will not even wear a shirt or skirt made of silk because harm could have happened to the silk worm. On the other hand some vegetarians think it is ok to have fish, eggs and cheese. What is funny is the food labels act if there are no differences among vegetarian types.

Vegetarians that are the minimalist would eat eggs and cheese because it does not cause the death of an animal. Simple meals like tomato sauce and pasta has been an easy one for years. A food that is more of a cuisine is the Middle Eastern foods because they are innovational in taste.

Being a vegetarian is easy; it will not be a pain to do at all. Most of my adult life I was not a vegetarian, I listened to the claim that you need to eat meat for more muscle to grow. Then I hear the statement of cows just eat grass and look at all the meat they supply. Farms growing what we need has kept us hear for thousands of years.

Health care cost are costly everybody to much money from disease. If we eat less meat there is a good change there wound be less heart problems, lower cancer rates and overall less obesity in the world. I am sorry if this sounded like a rant or something.

If you try to cram yourself with all the vegetarian facts at once you will indeed overwhelm yourself. So do yourself a favor and take the lifestyle in slowly. Start making small changes like added more salads to your meals and eating more mushrooms with your meals. Making gradual changes like this is best when starting something new.

Making this change is going to be easier than you think because you will be eating many of the same foods you eat now. You can live without the meat gurus and you will not fall over. If planned it right it will be a healthier life for yourself for many years to come.

Benefits of Alternative Health Treatments

By Anne Woodland | June 8, 2008

by Anne Woodland

There is a trend today to embrace alternate healing therapies instead of conventional ones. Mainstream medical treatment and alternative or complimentary therapy has become part of integrated treatment and today there is some very high quality scientific verification in safety and efficacy aspects. The alternative therapies are known to provide certain types of services that aren’t available within conventional medicine. There could be a whole lot of alternative therapies that you have access to like faith healing, traditional folk medicine, homeopathy, naturopathy and the like. All of these therapies are being used instead of the conventional means of medical treatment in relationship to a belief that they are going to be able to have a curative effect on the disease.

Alternative health therapies can help you feel better and improve your quality of life and improve your general health to give you a sense of control. Reducing and eliminating tension, stress, anxiety, depression and sleeplessness, causes the person to feel a sense of well-being and relaxation. The intensity of some of the side effects of traditional cancer treatment can be made more bearable, other symptoms like breathlessness, diarrhea, lack of appetite, constipation, pain and feeling sick that are greatly reduced.

They alleviate pain which could conceal a grave situation and this is a possibility as today they are frequently used with traditional medicine. For example, there are some support groups for cancer, that offer all of these therapies for free or for a small fee and there are some hospices and hospitals that provide these as a special part of the care for cancer, right alongside of the conventional treatments for cancer like radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Several of the people that now have cancer are known to use all of these therapies in order to help support them throughout the stages of cancer and the treatment itself. These therapies are very valuable in that they identify and support spiritual and emotional characteristics and physical features, but they should not be used as the only alternative line of treatment.

There is an increase in the use of alternative health products, Americans use a lot of herbs and vitamins and spend about billion every year on alternative health products. The recent studies that were conducted by Phillips, Tindle, Eisenberg and Davis, reflected that there was roughly seventy two million adults within the United States that use alternative and complementary therapies. Also indicated from these studies is a figure of more than billion per year spent on out-of-pocket for these therapies according to Herman, Craig, & Caspi, 2005.

It is very essential to find out which alternative treatment is required by your particular type of problem, how comfortable are you with it and how effective will it be. Individual therapies have been proven to improve the quality of life for many people with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), these can include: acupuncture, aromatherapy, homeopathy, hypnotherapy, massage, meditation, reiki and reflexology. It is always a good idea to consult your physician before considering any of the alternative therapies available, and it is important to double check that any additional treatment undertaken will not adversely affect any current treatment program you are on.

In case you are thinking of using any alternative health therapy along with your contemporary medication then you must talk to you doctor and find about the pros and cons that are related. Do not neglect any important aspects that need to be discussed. Before considering and deciding on this option, you should first check with your doctor on whether or not the treatment is available at your hospital or clinic. Many doctors are getting convinced that complementary medicine still has its own place in the society. They would also be able to recommend specific therapies and treatments which would suit. For many today, alternative therapies are helping them cope and manage the effects of conventional treatment by the reduction in the feeling of anxiety and feeling the return of a certain control of their own lives.

Fast Food Bank Aims to Win Over Junk Eaters

By Christine Sutherland | June 6, 2008

by Christine Sutherland

There’s no single answer to overweight and obesity, but one thing everyone agrees on is that we have to reduce the amount of junk food which is being consumed, especially by children.

The main problem isn’t even so much the junk food itself, but the lack of time for food preparation that sees stressed parents picking up or ordering in, instead of cooking. But as Jamie Oliver says, there is really no faster “fast food” than home-prepared food, because it takes longer to go and get or wait for purchased meals than it does to throw something exciting together in your own kitchen.

Not only can home-prepared meals be much faster than bought food, but any way you look at it, the taste is so much better. In addition, home preparation saves thousands of dollars every year, and delivers the right nutrition to support healthy bodies and minds.

So home-prepared food wins on taste, cost, and nutrition. It’s superior to junk food every possible way you could look at it. But you do need to know how to plan and prepare it.

A brand new Australian web site hopes to have a global impact by helping parents to be more confident about ripping into some truly fast meals. They’ve started a “Fast Food Bank”, seeded it with a few great recipes, and hope that families will get with the spirit and post up their own fast favourites for everyone to share.

A good example of great fast food is the first recipe uploaded to the site, tabouleh wrap with Eastern turkey. This dish packs a flavour punch that the whole family will love, is 100% healthy, takes only 15 minutes to prepare from start to finish, and yet is less than half the cost of the purchased product.

As one of the projects of the globally-run Kind Communities Initiative, FastFoodBank.com is entirely free of charge. The aim is to fight back against disease and depression, by giving families the resources they need to live healthier, happier, and more satisfying lives.
